So, Dallas Cowboys and former Oklahoma State star running back Joseph Randle got caught stealing some underwear and a tester bottle of cologne from a department store last Monday, and was arrested for it. He was charged with a Class B misdemeanor according to the police, and the Dallas Cowboys fined him $29,500.
Things like this happen all of the time, but what makes this time different is now he will be getting paid for this! Thats right, he will be getting an endorsement deal out of this. He will now be endorsing MeUndies brand underwear. Part of the agreement is that Joseph Randle will have to donate clothing to needy children (which is a good thing), but it still doesn't erase that fact of the matter. If a person from the general population were to get caught stealing, they would have the same charges filed against them, go to jail, go to court, pay fines, be on probation, and possibly pay restitution fees. I am certain that they would not get a endorsement deal out of it. If this was the way it worked, I would have been a candy bar spokesman a long time ago. I am sure that he will pay his fine and all the court fees and do what is asked of him, because I don't think he is a bad person, I think he just did something stupid. We all know that he can afford some underwear and cologne.
If you want an endorsement deal, I wouldn't suggest you go steal anything just yet, you need to become rich and famous first. Just another on of those “you gotta be kidding” moments that we see all to often when it comes to celebrities and the trouble they get into...and out of...and get paid for.
